Issue with ' Login via MySQL Database '

I've set up a social media server and tried to link the database through System > Login & Registration > Methods > Create New > MySQL Database. I'm entering the details precisely as required, but in the final step, I get an error:

"Configuration or server error has occurred. EX2002 Something went wrong. Please try again."

Could you help me troubleshoot this?
