    В globalTemplate ищешь (Ctrl+F) вбиваешь Новости. Удаляешь сохраняешь.
    По поводу категории. Вы имеете ввиду background?
    Если да, то в ipbstyles.css
    ищите:
    background: #708EA6 url('__forum.st-rp.ru/public/style_images/splat/maintitle2.png') repeat-x 50% 50%; изменяете на свой или же просто оставляете цвет. Вообщем как вам угодно.

    {parse replacement="skinlink"} найти в globalTemplate и удалить. мне помогло
